With development of the Connaissance Template Series behind us we are back again on our routine job and presenting you a new template. We plan on presenting it to you sometime next week. Yes, it will be a regular template release with some first few free giveaways then for sale in our store only. At this time we are not going to request for any member to test our templates as we do not want this Series to go the way of the Connaissance Template and also sell to a private party before release date. Although we might select a couple of testers with the express condition that this will not be sold privately. We want this new template to be available in our store for people to buy and enjoy it. We are proud to introduce "Edge". Edge can misguide you as it has many definitions, one being sharp corners. Surprise! This template has no sharp edges but is on the "Cutting Edge". You might call it anti-edge or edge-less but we use term edge in very specific meaning, "Cutting Edge". Edge is the most important part of this design and you will learn why we called this template "Edge” in next few minutes.   Keep reading inside. Colors Schemes: It provides a professional look to your directory. Using Web 2.0 compliant colors chosen with the help of color blenders yields a very elegant yet professional feel to the design. We made Edge as user friendly a design as possible, which you will get to know soon. Edge is also a highly AJAX rich template and following are but a few of the many features of the Edge Template Series. Page Width: There are many questions about the table widths, how and ease of changing them to suite each owner, whether it be the pixel (fixed) or the %(fluid). Well until now you needed to make many changes in the CSS (cascade style sheets) and HTML (hyper text markup) files to achieve your required width. In the new Edge Series we are introducing a Ajax function to deal with this entire problem. You just need to call the function with a desired width and it is all set before you can even "bat an eye lid". Styles: Edge will be available in 3 different color templates. Again Ajax functions are in play to make this job as easy as possible for you. You just need to call a particular function and choose among pre defined colors and all the colors will be set except main template images. Which means different styles will be enabled but not a whole template. That’s the beauty of the Edge Template Series. PMDStyles usually designs 8-10 different styles for a single template but now its in your hands and you can do it yourself with the greatest of ease using Ajax. This gives a complete freedom over dependency on a designer or a company. This pretty much saves you time as well as money, also the knowledge base that one has to have to tweak styles. Extras Section: We developed a "New Section" that will provide you an extra space on your crowded directory to define some important links or notes or important news etc. It is all up to you what you want to do with it. Walla! You can make a gallery of images or can allow listing some few special customers, the ideas are endless. This Section, that is a surprise and will be totally reveled with the release, enables a whole new range of premium membership option for your business that means more income. AJAX Lightbox: Inbuilt Lightbox is now a part of the Edge Template Series. We are not sure we need to explain what light box is, but let us explain it for some new computer geeks or old-timers that have not heard the news. Lightbox is special javascript library files that enable the on site preview of image and data files. No more page refresh, no more queries, just a simple alternative solution to pop-up windows. This template is Lightbox enabled and Admin just needs to follow tutorials to use it. Entire image galleries can be constructed. SEO: Through the development of the previous template series we gained valuable knowledge about SEO and how to achieve a good balance of SEO and Design technologies. We have implemented this vast knowledge into Edge Template Series. One may ask what techniques we used and we would say “Actually we are glad you asked. We used basic but effective white hat SEO techniques along with some SEO tools to test whether they are working correctly or not. You need only worry about keyword density and black hat SEO. which we highly recommend you avoid. We are not at liberty to reveal in detail all of the SEO techniques we used in this template making this template one of the best". Although we will say that most of the same techniques on our website were also used. You would find that we are on top for more then 60% potential and possible combination of keywords and almost under first 5 for 90% of possible search keywords which has been used by users in last few months for phpMyDirectory. To achieve a balanced approach we used many free tools and some SEO tips which we will list later along with template release and some commercial tools which we can not name here. Page Size: One of our deepest concerns was the page size which was more then our earlier templates. We implemented this in the Connaissance Template Series but could not get any feedback as this Series never had a public Demo. So we are looking for feedback from the customers as to their feeling about the new page size. This is the best balance we could provide, for a quality design and a best possible SEO, taking into consideration all the factors. You might not notice it right off but you will feel the improvements when search engines start indexing your website more frequently. Some more Features listed here. 1. Inbuilt PNG Fix. 2. Cross brouser compatibility over wide range of browsers. 3. CSS /XHTML layout. 4. 3 column layout, can be modified in few steps. Edge Template Series has many more features but we think that when you download, install and customize the beautiful template for your requirements you'll really understand how wonderful the template is.
